Careers Information, Advice and Guidance at AGS

Acklam Grange School offers high quality careers advice and guidance so that our students are prepared for their future life in Modern Britain. Over the time students are at Acklam Grange School, they, with parent/carers, will be making a number of decisions relating to their future. We know how important and life changing these decisions can be, and this drives us to ensure that everyone receives the best possible careers education. 

We support students to make well-informed decisions by providing access to differentiated, impartial and independent information and guidance that raises student’s aspirations and equips them with the skills needed to navigate the 21st century employment market. Our careers programme plays a major role in the student’s personal development by preparing them for opportunities, responsibilities and experiences in later life. It helps our students to plan and manage their careers effectively, ensuring progression which is ambitious and aspirational and increases their motivation and resilience.  It promotes equality of opportunity, celebrates diversity, challenges stereotypes and develops students’ understanding of how the employment market works today and how to make the most of the vast array of opportunities open to them.

We have a planned careers program and work to the Gatsby Benchmarks and the Careers Statutory Guidance.
