Primary Schools
Headteachers from our partner primary schools meet termly with our Headteacher, Mr Laidler, to share good practice and ensure a smooth transition between KS2 and KS3.
Mr Laidler visits all partner primary schools regularly to learn from the wonderful and inspiring learning experiences enjoyed by all primary school pupils.
Year 6 pupils enjoy Mr Laidler’s fun and exciting assemblies. Staff and pupils welcome Mr Laidler into their classrooms to share their ideas for learning and their secrets of success.
Our Year 6 Induction Programme in the summer term is an excellent opportunity for Year 6 pupils to visit our school before they begin Year 7. Many have already enjoyed activities at the Acorn Centre at weekends and in the school holidays. Some will also have had the opportunity to participate in a range of activities at Acklam Grange School, including our very popular Inter Primary School Maths Challenge. Our partnership with MFC Foundation’s Stepping Up Programme, also supports pupils with their transition from Y6 to Y7.
