Geography
“I will always remember what plates there are in the world because of the ‘Kung Fu Panda’ song. Our teachers make learning memorable and fun.”
Year 9 student
Geography is the study of our planet; of where places are, what they are like, what life is like in those places and how places are changing. It provides students with a knowledge of the world, including different cultures and the issues impacting on our environment. Earthquakes, volcanoes, weather, rivers, economic activity and local and global environments are just some of the topics that feature in this enlightening and eye-opening subject area.
Development of numeracy, literacy and ICT skills are a strong feature of our Geography provision.
In order to fully appreciate everything Geography has to offer students will work beyond the classroom and take part in field trips to bring experiences to life and apply the theory of their studies in a practical way.
