Staff rewards & recognition
Staff team of the week
At Acklam Grange School, our praise culture extends beyond students to recognise the dedication, teamwork and commitment of our staff. Staff Team of the Week is a weekly celebration that shines a spotlight on colleagues who have gone above and beyond in their roles and made a positive difference to school life.
Staff are nominated by both fellow colleagues and students, making the award particularly meaningful. Nominations often highlight those who have provided exceptional support, demonstrated outstanding teamwork, contributed to the wider school community, or shown unwavering commitment to helping young people succeed. By inviting students to take part in the nomination process, we reinforce the importance of gratitude, respect, and recognising the efforts of others.
Celebrating Staff Team of the Week helps to foster a strong sense of community and morale across the school. It recognises that a positive school environment is built collectively and ensures that the hard work and care shown by staff do not go unnoticed.
Thank a teacher day
Thank a Teacher Day is another important part of our whole-school praise culture, providing students with the opportunity to express their appreciation for the staff who support, guide, and inspire them each day.
Students are invited to write personalised thank you postcards to members of staff. Whether recognising help with learning, pastoral support, encouragement during challenges, or simply kindness shown in everyday interactions, these messages offer a powerful and heartfelt way for students to show gratitude.
Thank a Teacher Day is always an uplifting event within the school calendar. The simple act of saying “thank you” strengthens relationships, boosts staff morale and reinforces our culture of respect and appreciation. It reminds us that education is built on positive connections and that recognising the impact of others, both big and small, helps our whole community to thrive.
