GCSE Economics
In GCSE Economics we aim to provide students with essential skills and knowledge to prepare them for the next step in their lives, whether that be further education, training or the workplace. The aim of the GCSE Economics curriculum is to develop students’ understanding of how the local / national / global economy works through analysing economic issues, problems and institutions that affect everyday life. We do this through quality teaching which ensures students understand underlying Economic theory which they then apply to a variety of familiar and unfamiliar case studies. We want students to be able to think analytically, reach logical conclusions based on data, and make judgements on future changes to markets and the economy. Our curriculum in Economics at Acklam Grange School goes far beyond what is taught in lessons, for whilst we want students to achieve the very best examination results possible, we believe our curriculum goes beyond what is examinable; we are preparing our students for life in modern Britain. Our curriculum in Economics supports the PRIDE values of the school and promotes British values.
