What was your experience at Acklam Grange like?
I really enjoyed the last two years of school. As much as my GCSEs were stressful I was surrounded by good friends and supportive teachers.
Do you have a fond memory that you would like to share?
Finishing my final GCSE exam and having to run back home to get ready for prom on the same day. I felt so proud of myself and so excited to see everyone at prom.
What person, class or experience most influenced you?
All my teachers inspired me to push myself and work hard.

How did your education at AGS prepare you for your career?
It taught me to be motivated and work hard. It pushed me to get results I didn’t think I would get which then got me into sixth form and I then continued to university.
What has your career path been like? How did you get to where you are?
After finishing school I went to sixth form and did 3 A Levels. I then went to university to study psychology and then a masters in child and adolescent development. I am now completely a further qualification as part of my current job.
What do you enjoy about your job?
Being able to support children and young people with their mental health and seeing their progression throughout the weeks.
What skills have served you well in your career?
Motivation, patience and empathy.
What advice would you give to current Acklam Grange students about their future?
Make sure to ask staff if you need support. They want the best for you and to see you succeed. Hard work and motivation will get you to where you want to be and if you don’t get the grades the first time, it is not the end of the world. Keep pushing yourself.
