WELCOME TO THE ACORN CENTRE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are very pleased to welcome you to our website and superb facilities at the Acorn Centre, where a friendly welcome awaits you.

The Acorn Centre is a £2.2 million sport and inclusion facility which was opened in late January 2005 following its official launch by Gary Pallister (former Middlesbrough and England International footballer) and Councilor Hazel Pearson OBE. Situated on the site of Acklam Grange School, a specialist college of Mathematics and Computing in West Middlesbrough. Our prestigious development has been made possible due to receiving significant investment from Acklam Grange School, Middlesbrough Council, The West Middlesbrough Neighborhood Trust (WMNT) and The Big Lottery Fund.

The Acorn Centre is a Dual Use facility with the main objective of increasing access and participation levels through the delivery of high quality sport, physical activity and inclusion programs for local school and community networks.

It is not only the pupils of Acklam Grange School who are benefiting directly from our facilities, they also offer you and the wider community with the safe and affordable opportunity in which to exercise or play sport. We aim to make health and fitness an integral part of everyday life for members of our local communities which they enjoy!

We aspire to cater for all customers, regardless of their size, shape or ability, giving everyone the opportunity to improve on fitness in a warm, welcoming environment at the centre.
