New GCSE Grades

This academic year sees the first teaching of the newly reformed GCSEs.  Below is a brief outline of how the changes will affect each year group

Year 11: As of September 2015 Year 11 students were the final year group to be awarded GCSE grades ranging solely from A*-G. 

Year 10: Students in Year 10 will have target grades in the form of A*-G for all subjects except English and Mathematics which will now be in the form of Grades 1 to 9.

Current Year 9 students will be the first year group to take a full suite of newly reformed GCSEs on 1-9 grades.**

Year 7 and 8 will sit GCSEs which will all have 1 to 9 grades

Year 7-9 students will have target grades for all subjects in the form of the new 1-9 grades.



**the only exception being any Year 9 student who chooses to take a GCSE in a Design and Technology and some Business courses which will be A*-G for one more year.
